Hanners has posted a news article.

If you need huge gobs of desktop-level storage, then the currently available range of 3 Terabyte hard drives are probably the way to go.  But which drives should you splash your cash on?  Hot Hardware takes a look at models from Hitachi, Seagate and Western Digital.

3 TB hard drives are old news; it's 4 TB ones that are all the rage now. 8)

For the hell of it i worked out that if this was the current price for 6gb, i'd have spent $150,000 on internal storage capacity.... yep, it's been a slow day today.

I'm stuck with a 200 GB hard drive on my laptop (my desktop hasn't worked in awhile), but have a 1 TB external drive as well. :)

I ran across a PC still being used with around 30 GB hard drive space recently. :ohdear: (That was the total capacity it listed, not the free space available.)

well I´d really like to see reasonably priced big SSD drives.

Currently I have no spinning hard disks in my computer. Just a 120GB Vertex 2.

It´s all about managing the space available. If you don´t need it right now, delete it. If you really want to keep it, hook up external hard drive and archive.

That's what I've been doing. I try to stay away from huge disks for my system storage. It leads to me just having to do more cleanup. Throwing things on an external is easy and less time consuming. As I upgrade externals, I can keep throwing stuff on them.
